Alamo is one of the best cinema experiences in Brooklyn. Originally a theater concept from Austin, so it's a little taste of home for me. Highly recommend the fried pickles 👌
Arrive early & grab a drink at the House of Wax. When you take your seat, grab that little pad & write "Fried Pickles" on it. The best way to see a movie. Booze, reserved seating & a great crowd.
A solid addition to the franchise in a big, modern space. As an Austin native, I'm always nostalgic for their older theaters with more character, but the curation and beer are great/why you come
Gotta love The Alamo experience! As in Texas, the place is a whole perfect package for filmnuts, replete with rare posters and an iconic carpet, to comfy and spacious seats and snacks brought to you!
As a native Texan I'm thrilled we finally got an Alamo Drafthouse. But beware if you're a movie purist. Lots of distractions and difficult to watch subtitle films with people walking in front of you.
take a photo as king kong on the empire state building (use the noir filter) and post to social media for a chance to win brief attention and social validation
Best movie theater ever! I never had bad service - the seats are great. I like that there’s beer & booze options but refrain if I don’t want to get up during the movie. Regular shakes are great too!
Love this place, hands down best spot for seeing movies and having a meal without interruption. Craft eats and beers. You pay for it, though, so bring the credit card & tip your waitstaff!
The staff here was so lovely and welcoming. What a great place for a private event. Looking forward to coming back here for their themed movie nights and events.
Best place to see a film in NYC. Friendly waitstaff and cozy chairs - the front row seats recline!! Great draft beer and food, although you’re steps away from the new, excellent Dekalb Market Hall.
By far my favorite theater in NY. Best things: 1. Drinks @ House of Wax beforehand 2. The flatbreads!! 3. The customer service - you can even get a full refund up to 1hr before the showing!
The long list of adult beverages (beer in all shapes, types and sizes, rosé/red/white/sparkling wine, cocktails, boozy milkshakes) & ample leg/butt-room = far superior theater going experience.
Food isn't the most amazing, but the vibe of the theater is great. Arrive 10 mins early to your seat to give you time to order a beer and a snack before the show starts and enjoy the quirky trailers.
I love the idea of a theater that will serve me real food and booze. I feel like the Nitehawk is more quaint with slightly better food, but the Alamo is much bigger & has more comfortable seating.
Best theater in all of Brooklyn. A price that is comprable to other standard theaters but has large comfortable chairs, spectacular food and cocktails that are brought to you as you watch your movie.
Spacious seats, well curated movies, solid beer selection, the M trainflatbread, and the boozy milkshakes. Make sure to hit the House Of Wax on your way out.
This is my go-to for a Saturday or Sunday brunch. The selection of movies can be limited but the theater and food/drink service is great. No late seating so arrive on time!
Unless I need to watch whatever it is on an absurdly large screen, the Alamo is my go-to for their awesome popcorn, fun themed drinks, and cinephile-friendly atmosphere.
Reserved, comfortable seats are great- they need to work on the food service a bit more. Checks came at end of movie, and we had to wait after credits to get check back.
Two words- truffle. Popcorn. That and the hotdogs are great. Best part is assigned seating, you foots love knowing that you'll never have to worry about seats.
Jerk chicken sandwich a must. Mexican hot chocolate- boozy and a spicy kick! Theater opens 30 min prior to showtime so you can settle in. Previews are tailored to the movie- no corporate ads!
So make sure to scan your e-ticket near "guest services" before you go into the theater. It can be quite confusing on how the theater works of your new to it. Our experience was so cool!
This place has EVERYTHING (and more) for a high quality movie theater experience. Come 30 minutes early for an unusual and outstanding preview experience!:)
Food's just decent. But props on the extensive local draft list. I'm totally down with their whole no texting & talking mantra, but having the servers hustling around can be equally distracting.
This Alamo Drafthouse is sadly smaller than others. Seats don't recline and you share your food/drink table with the person next to you. Overall still a great theater.
Comfyreserved seats, great beer list, and very nice servers. Given that it's much larger than the Nitehawk, the slightly higher ticket rate isn't so bad.
