Take the LIRR from Penn to Jamaica then take the Air Tran. Much better and faster then can or subway in traffic. Total one way fair= $11.
Use cell phone parking lot while waiting for arrival of a friend or a relative
Terminal 4 is the most expensive terminal in world. They'll charge you 5$ for bag trolley and Bottle of water 0,5l is around 5$ as well. Also no free WiFi and Boingo is expensive piece of crap.

Delta is strict on the checked bags 1 hour prior to flight. 3 minutes late and mine was a late check. LGA is 45 minutes but JFK requires one hour. Those 10 minutes waiting for the airtrain hurts.

Seamless experience with virgin. 15 min security line at SFO and waited for my bag a total of 5 minutes at JFK. If you're gonna check a bag, I'd suggest doing it with virgin.
T5 and T4 are so different but great terminals
NYC airports are far better than most major city airports. Just too many NY Yankee fans for my taste
If this is your first time in NYC, you have to visit this place I've found. It's a small island that has all kinds of fun stuff on it: Manhattan.

From Manhattan to JFK, give yourself ample time. Traffic is a nightmare!
Bar Brace in Delta regional terminal has ton of power outlets and ipads for ordering...very cool.
