David Noël: Excellent coffee shop close to Checkpoint Charlie. They carry Five Elephant coffee, have a nice selection of magazines and provide space for working. More Soho than Mission. Great spot.

Johannes Kleske: Be warned: This is no ordinary café. This is a place to learn about and taste amazing coffee. The baristas here are zealous coffee nerds. So don't mind all the rules and just enjoy their passion.

Michael Kinnaman: Set in an old Jewish girls school. Amazing food with a bit of pre-Nazi history. Quinoa shellfish salad is a must.
