EaterАпрель 16, 2013Points for drinks like the Steve McQueen with Bulleit, punt e mes and barrel-aged bitters. Points for the quirky rotating art and nightly jams. Extra credit for not having an ounce of pretension.
The cocktails can be expensive, but it's still a great bar nonetheless. Turns into a fun dance spot on weekend nights but I enjoy an after work libation here all the time. Good place to meet friends.

when the place is empty, its got a great vibe. but it fills up very fast and that changes everything. (why do they try to make a line outside?)

Madrone Art Bar is more than a bar: it is a constantly changing site-specific installation art environment where two and three-dimensional works, multi-media, and performance are combined to form an aesthetic constellation that affects attendees’ perceptions from the moment they enter the place.
