This is one of the premier Art Museums in the country. With the new Nelson Block collection being added this year, we now have a wonderful collection of French Impressionists and "Old Masters".
Once you're through perusing this Kansas City gem's collection, stroll outside at dusk to see the beauty of the Bloch Building, one of Travel + Leisure's top 12 most beautiful buildings of the world! \nПодробнее
Allow time to visit each floor! One hour isn't nearly enough time. Get there early and finish your trip with a glass of wine before the courtyard closes at 4. Or come back at 5:30 for happy hour!
Love this place. So much amazing artwork and pretty much everthing is free. If you go often get a membership. Gets you into the paid exhibits as well as free parking and 10% of food and junk.
Rozzelle Court restaurant has great lunch. The Mideival Cloister in next room is incredible. Fantastic Asian Art wing with Buddhist temple. Enjoy the SculpturePark & Glass Labyrinth on a nice day.
One of the best in the nation. The Asian art collection is world class. Take a picture by the giant wooden Japanese Buddha, and do not forget to visit the Indian and Chinese temples.
This is probably the nicest Art Museum I have been too, it is FULL of amazing art work from American to Egyptian, Romanticism to Neoclassic, love all the old furniture. This even rivals DC!
World classmuseum in KC! Great selection of arts from the masters as well as contemporary and local. Free tickets on their website. Closed Tue and Wed.
LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!! Beautiful Native Americans Artexposition, as well as Asian Art and others. Gift shop abundant on interesting books and small souvenirs.
I've been here several times, things not to miss: Van Gogh, Monet; The ShuttleCocks; The boddhi satva; The knights tomb. BRing food or eat before you arrive, the museum food is delicious, but $$$$
One of the best museums in the country. There's always a family activity from 1-4pm every Saturday & Sunday. The lawn is beautiful with sculptures and glass maze that is fun to explore.
Wonderful day with music, art activities, and beautiful art. Enjoyed seeing more of the museum. There is always more to find so visit often. Also, the free book was a treat.
Highly recommend- kids will enjoy Egyptian, Chinese and Ancient galleries, along with SculpturePark. Rozzelle Court is a great place for lunch/snack. Mobile guide is wonderful to use with teens! \nПодробнее
Known for its collection of Egyption, Asian and Native American art. It also has a Caravaggio, Impressionist works, giant shuttlecocks on the law and the new Bloch Building, an "architectural marvel."
Lots of favorites here. The silver work in the European religious gallery is breathtaking. Love the American furniture upstairs and beadwork in American Indian gallery. Go back again & again!
Check the acquisition number on the labels. The first two numbers are, I believe, the year of acquisition. It's interesting to compare when various, sometimes similar pieces came to Kansas City.
Awesome gallery, particularly the ancient Greek and Egyptian collections and Caravaggio's St. John the Baptist. Having seen MANY Caravaggios in Europe, have to say KC is LUCKY to have this one.
34,500 pieces in the collection from ceramic objects found in ancient Chinese tombs to whimsical sculptures of badminton birdies, the Nelson-Atkins collection spans over 5,000 years of humanity.
Great place to get married. Elope near a favorite piece of art or in the courtyard near a shuttle cock. Call Amy the Minister of Love 913.668.2096 www.kcministeroflove.com
