Believe the hype - it is a great first date spot, with an excellent wine selection. But don't sleep on the food - the grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate-filled raspberries are well worth it too.
The bloke who runs the BBC Gift Shop inside is a nice, friendly guy who is always good for a chat!
No wallet-friendly slice of Voodoo Ray's Pizza is complete without a glass of Vanilla Stolichnaya & Cherry Coke - sublime.
No visit to Mare Street is complete without stopping here for quite arguably the best Cappuccino this side of Hackney Downs. Scandalously well-priced to boot - you'll feel like you're stealing it!
Brooklyn Lager on tap has never been served more chilled or tasted more refreshing! That's not even mentioning the high-class cocktails, chilled speakeasy vibe or the fine bar snacks on offer!
Quite possibly the best Burrito that you'll have in London. Better than the likes of Benito's Hat, Chipotle & Burrito Bros (imo). Maybe only El Burrito and (possibly) Daddy Donkey compare.
The Soft-Shell Crab with green chilli ginger sauce lives up to the hype. The spicy Tantanmen Ramen is also recommended. Fine but pricey food (av. £20-£25 per head for side, main & drink + service).
The Corn Fritters definitely live up to the hype - they are sublime. I'd also recommend getting here early doors for a chilled-out breakfast with a nice, relaxed and laid-back vibe.
Think that broccoli doesn't work on a pizza? Think again. The spicy sausage, mozzarella and tenderstem broccoli pizza is quality. Take-away Pizza will never be the same again after this.
Sunday lunch here is enjoyable - v. polite staff will wait on you at your table for your food and drink! Try the Beer Battered Haddock with Fat Chips and Minted Mushy Peas. Leytonstone's finest Pub.
Happy Hour between 4 & 8pm means great cocktails for £4.50 (try the Caipirinha). Mexican-style table food is pretty good too and one of the waitresses there is crazy cute with a gorgeous smile! :D
