This is my favourite book store ever. I wish they had one in Montreal. Or suddenly, for no reason whatsoever, moved this one here. Amazing prices and sooo many books I could spend the whole day there.

A great bookstore, IF you don’t have a stroller. It’s hard work to manoeuvre a stroller in a store that has book cabinets placed absolutely everywhere.

Massive book store, with all types: new, old, foreign languages, and all genres. If you still believe in physical books, totally worth the stopover.

Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. Don't forget to dig through the clearance racks outside as you're leaving! All Taschen books 10% off as of 10/13/12!

Huge collection of books, but more importantly, the 2$ handed down books of really good quality, often recent bestsellers as well!

Famous bookstore with long history of selling used and new books. If I rem correctly, it used to feel more authentic as a bookstore. Now it feels like just another bookstore with lots of souvenirs.

Give yourself plenty of time to wander around. You might find something you didn't know you wanted. Also the best place for affordable art, interior design and fashion books.

You can trade in books, but the criteria for them to buy is a high bar. There's also a trade kiosk on the corner of 60th Street and 5th Avenue.

They have a big variety of books but sometimes if popular the book will be out of stock. Very busy bookstore but worth the visit.

If you are a tourist you have to visit this place! Very old bookstore, sells everything, from $1 used books to 4 floors of new ones.

This is my happy place. Browse the staff picks and the skillfully curated tables in front, but always check for a cheaper used edition in the back or downstairs!

If you get the chance, go to the rare book floor and touch some old things. Bathroom on the 3rd floor is on my list of relatively clean public restrooms in New York City.
