They open at 7:00 a.m. There's a lovely courtyard in back. I like the Perc coffee served. Baked goods made in-house.
Rich-tasting Americano coffee, and the best loose tea selection. The atmosphere used to be stellar. Now, all the upholstered furniture is worn out and shabby-looking.
Gluten-free lunch: yummy gazpacho, and edamame rice salad. The soup should be cold, and the salad warmed.
The food is good, but the acoustics in the downstairs restaurant are terrible. Go only when they have the garage-style doors open, and sit at a sidewalk table.
It's really not that expensive for gourmet food. One note of caution: in the winter, ask for a table away from the drafty entry hallway.
What a fun place; and you can taste before you buy. My favorite is the Original Tart. It tastes like creme fraiche -- so rich, but with little fat.
Their food has complex flavors that made my taste buds sing! I wish it were a little cheaper, so I could eat there more often.
