The 9:30 club isn't so named because it has anything to do with any time of the day, but because of its original location, 930 F St. NW, which is now an office building. Womp-womp.

Go to a show with a good opener, and get there in time to hold down the bar stools on the balcony above the VIP area and within arm's reach of the bar. Ideal seated viewing spot.

Screw sold out nights unless you want to pay $50 for a listening party and not be able to even reach the bar. Sight lines? What sight lines? On a normal night, fine.

Parking here is easier than you think! Buy parking with TicketFly. Lot is just north of the club (behind the building) on 9th Street

Bring a couple dollar bills if you plan on sitting in line outside during summer shows. There is a nice guy who will stroll down the sidewalk with a cart filled with bottles of water for a buck.

There's no bad spot to hear shows at 9:30 Club. Just be sure to buy tickets directly from 9:30 - counterfeit operations abound on Craigslist.

NO PHOTO/NO VIDEO policy sure doesn't look strict to me...... 9:30 is lax on hacks but still hassles pros. As camera tech gets higher on smart phones the rules will inevitably have to change....

They changed their Backbar policy and claim it's never been a separate line. Except every other concert we've been to HAS been a separate line. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!

Get there early to not have to fight your way through the crowd to the front of the stage. Pre-bands are always good.

Make sure that there isn't another show playing the same night. If so, verify the time- 9:30 isn't ALWAYS 9:30
