These skin care products are designed to work together to flush-out pores, clear, heal and prevent break-outs. Meanwhile, the skin is kept hydrated and protected from environmental damage.
Porification Face Wash
Porification Face Wash
Porification Face Wash is specifically formulated to help clear oily and acne-prone skin. Ultra-pure 10% Glycolic Acid is combined with 2% Salicylic Acid to form a pore-cleansing power-house that no pimple, blackhead, or whitehead can withstand. Specially designed to accelerate the removal of dead skin cells that can interfere with the proper oil drainage of the skin, Porification Face Wash helps to reduce the number of active acne blemishes (papules & pustules) and blackheads (comedones) while promoting the skin’s overall healing time.
To Use
Wet affected area, apply face wash, and rinse well. Because drying of the skin can occur, it is recommended to start with one application a day and then gradually increase to morning and night-time usage.
Porification Body Wash
Porification Body Wash
Porification Body Wash promotes healthy, acne-free skin anywhere on the body! Extra-strength Benzoyl Peroxide works to minimize the occurrence of any clogged pores, while calming Aloe Vera keeps irritations and promotes rapid healing. Your skin is left clean, and free of pore-clogging dead skin-cells and impurities.
To Use
Wet skin and massage a small amount into lather. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use once or twice daily, where needed. For added benefit, once applied to the skin, let the lather remain on the treated area (s) for a minute before rinsing off.
Porification Potion
Porification Potion
Porification Potion is a concentrated acne treatment designed to eliminate and prevent clogged pores. Utilizing the antibacterial properties of Benzoyl Peroxide, our Porification Potion is an intense, lightweight formula that penetrates deeply to banish the source of your acne, preventing and correcting breakouts and blemishes. An extra-strength concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide keeps black-heads, white-heads, and pimples of all variety at bay, while improving skin texture and clarity.
To Use
After cleansing skin, apply a thin layer to affected area at night before bed. (Do not use during day, as any sun exposure can exacerbate the drying effects of this product. As your skin acclimates to this product, if you experience any itchy, or drying sensations, apply the Porification Moisturizer on top of the Porification Potion to help alleviate discomfort.)
Porification Moisturizer
Porification Moisturizer
Porification Moisturizer is ideal for the acne patient who requires a light moisturizer. This formulation is non-comedogenic and safe to use on even the most sensitive skin. To help impart smooth, soft skin, Vitamins A, C, E, Co-Q10 and Green Tea Extract are also included.
To Use
Apply to the skin as often as necessary.
Porification Pads
Porification Pads
Porification Pads are a convenient and easy way to keep your skin clear. Just a swipe of these pre-medicated pads removes excess sebum off the skin while depositing 15% ultra-pure Glycolic Acid, resulting in clearer, softer skin. In addition to the exfoliating/cleansing effects of the 15% Glycolic Acid, your skin receives added benefit from the Witch Hazel (toning) and liposomal vitamins A, C, E, Co-Q10 and calming Green Tea Extract ingredients that are also included in the pads. Although meant to complement your Porification skin care regimen, these pads can be used alone, and are great for on-the-go cleansing.
To Use
Wipe the entire affected area with a pad one to three times daily. (Because excessive drying of the skin can occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two or three times daily if needed or as directed. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.) Can be used on any area of the body.
Other Info
Sun Protection Should Be Part of Every Comprehensive Skin-Care Regimen.
The "Porification Kit" is geared specifically towards keeping pores clean and clear, and does not include a designated sunscreen on purpose. Because there are so many different (wonderful) sunscreen versions available, we recommend that all patients definitely use an SPF in conjunction with Porification products, however there is flexibility with the type of sunscreen used, and each patient is able to choose one that fits their specific preferences.
Rosacea
Rosacea
Buh-bye facial redness! Amazing, new light based technology works to erase many of the unwanted signs of Rosacea. This effective technology allows light to pass through surface skin cells, destroying unwanted pigmentation and blood-vessels. The end result of this treatment is a noticeable decrease in unwanted signs of rosacea. Your skin tone will immediately become clearer, and the redness will disappear.
What Are Rosacea Treatments?
These state of the art laser skin-treatments utilize Broadband Light to destroy the surface, unwanted blood-vessels that accompany Rosacea. Although there is no permanent cure for Rosacea, BBL is an effective treatment for managing the condition. Patients can go through life with normal, healthy, even colored skin.
How Do the Rosacea Laser Treatments Work?
Our Rosacea treatments work by exposing the compromised skin to intense pulsed light which destroys the numerous surface veins that make up Rosacea. The net result is the reduction of surface redness, broken blood vessels, splotchy skin color, and sun-spots.
How Many Treatments Are Needed to Manage Rosacea?
On average, 3 to 4 IPL/BBL treatments are needed to clear-up current Rosacea treatments, with another treatment recommeded about once a year for maintennance purposes.
Do Rosacea Treatments Hurt?
Most patients describe the treatment as feeling similar to a quick rubber-band snap against the skin. Although not neccesarily a pleasant sensation, the treatment is over so quickly that everyone has an easy time getting through it. For the more sensitive, taking an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory (such as Aleve or Motrin) 30-45 minutes before treatment can help alleviate any discomfort.
Are the Results Permanent?
Unfortunately, these treatments do not permanently cure Rosacea, and instead they are just a way to beautifully manage it. Maintennance treatmets will be needed, but the frequency will depend largely on how you care for your skin in the meantime. Those with Rosacea should avoid any known triggers, such as sun exposure, spicy food, red wine, and over-heating.
What Other Types of Skin Conditions Can Be Treated with Rosacea Laser Skin Treatments?
There are many Rosacea-related skin conditions that can be successfully treated with laser skin treatments, such as: Hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone; Red or flushed skin; Small broken capillaries; Rosacea related acne.
Who Can Be Treated with Rosacea Laser Skin Treatments?
Men and women of all skin types and colors can be treated safely and effectively with our Rosacea IPL/BBL laser skin treatments. Once your skin is seen in person, the best settings will be determined for your unique skin in order to get you the best results.
How Long Are Rosacea Treatments?
These treatments are relatively quick, treating the entire face takes about 20-30 minutes.
What Will I Look Like Immediately After a Rosacea Treatment?
One of the most satisfying things about these Rosacea laser treatments is that the results are almost immediate. As soon as your treatment is completed, you will notice a signifigant decrease in skin redness, which will continue to improve over the following 24-hours.
Does About Face Skin Care Offer Rosacea Treatments?
Yes! About Face Skin Care is a leader in advancing this new Rosacea clearing technology, and these quick, effective IPL/BBL laser skin treatments are performed daily in our Philadelphia offices. In addition to performing the treatments, we are also happy to help advise on a proper at-home regimen, and provide tips and tricks for best managing your Rosacea.
Juvederm Dermal Filler
Juvederm Dermal Filler
Juvéderm is an injectable facial filler that is used to immediately fill-in lines and wrinkles on the face for an instantly smoother, younger looking appearance.
What Is Juvederm?
JUVÉDERM XC is a smooth gel filler that is used to instantly smooth away wrinkles and create volume. With just one treatment, you’ll get smooth and natural-looking results that last up to a year. JUVÉDERM XC is manufactured using HYLACROSS technology, creating a smooth-consistency gel. It is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. With JUVÉDERM XC you get the results you expect with the improved comfort you want.
What Does Juvederm Do?
JUVÉDERM XC injectable gel temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face.
What Is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all mammals that helps to hydrate and add volume to your skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair.
What Is Juvederm Typically Used For?
JUVÉDERM Ultra XC and JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC injectable gels are indicated for injection into the mid to deep dermis (below the outer layer of skin) for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the creases running from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth, aka smile lines or parentheses) .
How Is Juvederm Injectable Gel Used in Treatment?
Your healthcare provider eases JUVÉDERM XC injectable gel into the skin using a fine needle to temporarily fill in and augment the treatment area and smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as "smile lines" or "parentheses" (nasolabial folds) and "marionette lines" (oral commissures) . Juvederm temporarily adds volume to the skin and gives the appearance of a younger, smoother surface.
Are Juvederm Treatments Painful?
Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the injection. The smooth consistency gel of JUVÉDERM XC allows your doctor to administer it easily and smoothly. And, JUVÉDERM XC is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. Additionally, JUVÉDERM XC is formulated with lidocaine for a more comfortable treatment experience. (To increase patient comfort we usually use a topical numbing cream to anesthetize the treatment area before we begin.)
How Long Do the Results Usually Last?
On average, Juvederm results last anywhere from 6-12 months. Touch-up injections (as well as repeat injections) are usually needed to maintain optimal results.
Is Juvederm Safe to Use for All Skin Colors?
Yes. In fact, JUVÉDERM injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. Studies with JUVÉDERM showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
Where Does It Work?
Everyone’s skin ages differently and JUVÉDERM XC may be used to rejuvenate multiple problem areas. From smile lines to vertical lip lines to thin lips, you can smooth away unwanted wrinkles and enhance volume for a more youthful appearance.
How Does Juvederm Work?
Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA) . However as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds - like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth. Using a dermal filler like Juvederm is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.
How Is the Juvederm Used?
Juvederm dermal filler is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment for nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles. Using a fine needle, your healthcare professional eases Juvederm under the skin to fill the soft tissue of the dermis. This adds volume and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and folds, and increases the skin's volume immediately.
What Makes Juvéderm Xc Different From Other Dermal Fillers?
Juvederm is the ONLY hyaluronic acid (HA) filler FDA approved to last up to 1 year after initial treatment. It's unique manufacturing process provides a high concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid for long-lasting results. It also works to create a smooth consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. All other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels. Also, Juvederm is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in persons of color.
What Will Treatment with Juvéderm Xc Injectable Gel Accomplish?
JUVÉDERM® XC injectable gel will help to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing. And one treatment could smooth your lines and wrinkles for up to 1 year. Ask your treatment provider what you should expect from your initial treatment and when they would recommend rescheduling another appointment.
How Long Does Treatment Usually Take?
The overall time you are in the office may vary depending on the amount of questions you have beforehand, and whether or not you opt to numb. The injection process itself is relatively quick though, and generally takes only about 15 minutes.
What Will I Look Like Immediately After Treatment?
Most Juvederm "side effects" are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less) . The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injections site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. (As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection.) . However, one of the best things about Juvederm is that the results can be seen immediately, and you will leave the office with already noticeable improvements.
Does About Face Skin Care Offer Juvederm Injections?
Yes! Our nurse-injector Arianna Bado performs these treatments all the time, and is always attending classes and training sessions in order to be up-to-date on all the latest and greatest practices and techniques for getting the best results with this amazing dermal-filler.
Why Should I Use Juvederm Over Other Dermal-Fillers?
We’re glad you asked! Five easy answers. If you are doing dermal-filler research, you will easily see that there are plenty of dermal wrinkle fillers on the market today, but we think you’ll agree JUVÉDERM® XC is special. After all, there’s a reason JUVÉDERM® is the #1 selling dermal filler in the U.S.!
It's Long-Lasting.
Juvederm XC is the ONLY hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that is FDA approved to last up to one year with one treatment!
It's Comfortable.
Did we mention that it’s more comfortable for you than previous JUVEDERM Ultra Plus formulations? JUVEDERM Ultra Plus XC injectable gel is now formulated with lidocaine, a common anesthetic used to improve the comfort of treatment.
It's Customized.
Juvederm treatments are not a "one size fits all" approach to anti-aging treatments. Because Juvederm is available in multiple formulations, a unique treatment plan can be created for each individual patient, allowing us the versatility to contour and volumize any combination of facial wrinkle/fold, cheek, lips, under-eyes, etc. Your personal needs can be more satisfactorily met due to the skin-plumping options Juvederm provides.
It's Smooth.
Not all HA dermal fillers are created equal. Only JUVEDERM Ultra Plus XC® is so smooth - other hyaluronic acid fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels. But, this unique manufacturing process (HYLACROSS™) creates a smooth-consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know) !
It's Safe for All Skin Types.
Juvederm is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven it's safey and effectiveness in persons of color. Studies with Juvederm showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
Porification: Skin Care for Pure Pores
Porification Potion is a concentrated acne treatment designed to eliminate AND prevent clogged pores.
In a Nutshell
In a Nutshell
Utilizing the antibacterial properties of Benzoyl Peroxide, our Porification Potion is an intense, lightweight formula that penetrates deeply to banish the source of your acne, preventing and correcting breakouts and blemishes. An extra-strength concentration of 10% Benzoyl Peroxide keeps black-heads, white-heads, and pimples of all variety at bay, while improving skin texture and clarity.
To Use
After cleansing skin, apply a thin layer to affected area at night before bed. (Do not use during day, as any sun exposure can exacerbate the drying effects of this product.)
In a Longer Explanation
By Acting As Kryptonite to Acne-Causing Bacteria, Porification Potion Is a Wonderful Ally to Have in Your Acne Arsenal.
Once exposed to Porification Potion, the acne bacteria isn’t just slowed down… it’s killed.
In Order to Combat This, An Effective Acne Product Needs to Get This Debris Out of Your Pores.
If Your Skin Isn’t As Clear As You’d Like, It’s Because Your Pores Are Being Clogged with Something They Shouldn’t Be (Bacteria, Oil And/or Dead Skin Cells) .
Enter Porification Potion, Our Specialty Acne Night-Treatment. By Effectively Killing Bacteria and Dissolving the “clog”, the Debris Can Easily Escape the Pore, Allowing for Clear Skin.
How Does Porification Potion Clean Pores?
Porification Potion helps destroy Acne and purify pores in three major ways:
The First Is Oxidization.
When applied to the skin, the 10% Benzoyl Peroxide formulation injects oxygen into the pore, which acts like kryptonite to p.acnes (the bacteria that causes break-outs) . Once exposed to oxygen, the acne-causing bacteria dies.
Lastly, It Promotes Faster Cell Turnover. This Increase in Skin Exfoliation Lowers the Likelihood of Having Clogged Pores.
Secondly, It Acts As An Anti-Inflammatory, Reducing the Redness and Soreness That Can Accompany An Acne Lesion.
Other Info
Keep in Mind
With continued applications, benzoyl peroxide can help to reduce acne lesions, including whiteheads, blackheads and pimples. Benzoyl peroxide does not, however, cure acne. Instead, it treats the acne and reduces the amount of bacteria. If you cease using the benzoyl peroxide, the acne-causing bacteria can return to your skin and your break-outs may reoccur. Improvement in skin is usually seen after 2 weeks of use, and maximum benefits are attained after 8-12 weeks of use. To use - Apply Porification Potion to the areas of your skin you’d like to treat. Apply a small amount of product to the affected area and rub in gently. When properly applied, it should be spread so thinly that despite its thick white consistency - you cannot see it on the skin. Resist the urge to load up on product for “spot” treatments. This won’t result in faster clearance or healing, and instead will irritate the over-dosed area. Use this product regularly in order to get the most from it. Remember - Porification Potion does not permanently cure Acne, and instead offers an effective way to manage and prevent it. If you stop using this product, your break-outs may reoccur.
My Skin Is Clearer, But Feels Dry. What Now?
The most important factor to incorporate into your skin care routine (IF you are experiencing dryness in conjunction with Porification products) is MOISTURIZER! When using these medical grade products, your face will not survive comfortably if it is not properly moisturized. The best moisturizers to use are very gentle and light. Regular moisturizer application should alleviate the dry, itchy effects of Porification Potion.
Possible Side Effects
Porification Potion uses a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide formulation to aggressively treat and prevent acne. Since the product is very strong in order to get the best results, it can be associated with some side effects. These include skin dryness, irritation and tingling. These symptoms should cease after using for several days in a row. Skin reactions such as itching, irritation, and reddened skin may occur, especially at the start of treatment. These signs are your skin’s way of telling you it is dry. Apply a gentle moisturizer to soothe the skin, and this should end any uncomfortable issues. If irritation persists, apply Porification Potion two or three times a week instead of every night, so that your skin has a chance to adjust to the strength of the product. If any of these effects persist or worsen, please notify us immediately! (215-923-5001 or hello@aboutfaceskincare.com) You may need to apply smaller amounts, use it less often, or it is possible you are allergic to it. Although there can be an adjustment period for your skin as it acclimates to this product, the benefit to you is often greater than the possible side effects. * Most people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Serious allergic reactions to this product are very rare, but seek immediate medical attention if any of the following symptoms occur: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat) , severe dizziness, trouble breathing. Sunlight exacerbates the drying effect of this product; therefore it should only be used at night. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. (Feel free to discuss the risks and benefits with us.)

Spider Veins
Spider Veins
Spider veins are those fine red or blue veins that lie close to the surface of the skin. They often have a concentrated center with small veins radiating out and around making them look like a spider. Other times they can look more like tree branches made of short, irregular, jagged lines. There are many schools of thought as to their cause ranging from genetics, hormonal changes, to injuries, sun exposure and pregnancy. In all likelihood they are the result of some combination of these (and other) factors. Laser technology allows these unsightly spider veins to be removed without the use of needles, or surgery. It may take a few sessions, but your skin will look healthier and younger in no time at all.
What Are Spider Veins?
Spider veins, or broken capillaries, are medically referred to as telangiectasias. They are dilated capillary veins less than 2mm in diameter that exist just below the surface of the skin. They can be red, blue, or purple in color and have a web-like or linear appearance.
How Does Laser Spider Vein Removal Work?
The physics of laser spider vein removal are simple. The hemoglobin in the blood contained within the spider veins absorbs the laser heat. This heat then destroys the viability of the lining of the blood vessel, and the vessel gets eliminated.
How Many Treatments of Laser Spider Vein Removal Will I Need?
Spider veins typically respond quite well to the appropriate laser treatment. However, it typically requires 2-4 treatments for optimal results.
What Is Laser Spider Vein Removal?
Laser spider vein removal is a non-invasive method of destroying those fine blood vessels that are most often seen on the faces and legs of those who suffer from them.
What Causes Spider Veins to Appear?
Although nobody really knows exactly what causes spider veins, we do know that a variety of factors can contribute to their appearance. Heredity is probably the primary contributing factor, along with the genetic predisposition to weak vein walls and vein valves. There are also a number of lifestyle variables that are known to contribute to spider vein problems. These include pregnancy, birth control pill usage, obesity, prolonged sitting or standing, and lack of exercise.
Does About Face Skin Care Provide Laser Spider Vein Removal?
Yes, About Face SkinCare uses state of the art equipment for laser spider vein removal which provides wonderful results.
Chemical Peels
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a quick way to improve the skin's appearance by reducing presence of fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes. By removing superficial layers of skin, smoother, clearer, younger-looking skin can shine through. Available in a wide variety of strengths and formulas, chemical peels can be superficial, mild, medium-depth, or deep, and can address acne, acne scarring, melasma, aging skin, sun damage, in addition to a laundry list of other skin imperfections.
How Do Chemical Peels Work?
Skin peels work by removing the outermost layers of the skin. Removing the outermost layers of the skin can repair the damage done by age, sun exposure and skin conditions by allowing smooth, healthy new skin to grow. Chemical peels can lighten skin affected by hyperpigmentation or improve the appearance of wrinkles and scars. They're also used to treat skin conditions like acne or remove pre-cancerous growths from the skin.
Skin Peels Can Make You Look Younger
Many people get chemical peels for cosmetic reasons. Mild chemical peels remove a portion of the epidermis, or upper layer of the skin. They can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone, and improve skin texture.
Skin Peels Can Reverse Sun Damage
Many people get chemical peels to remove sun spots, age spots or other types of hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage. Mild and medium-depth chemical peels can remove sun spots, freckles and sun damage, or help the discoloration fade.
How Does a Chemical Peel Work?
A chemical peel involves the use of a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Chemical peels increase cellular turnover which in turn refines the epidermis and treats environmentally damaged, acne prone, sensitive, dry and oily conditions.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
During your initial consultation, we will discuss your cosmetic goals. To this end, a skin care regimen will be designed to help you improve and maintain healthier looking skin at home. Typically, a series of three to six chemical peels spaced three to four weeks apart is adequate to achieve most cosmetic goals.
Benefits of Chemical Peels
Chemical peels remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin to allow lighter, brighter, newer skin to grow. Chemical peels have been used since ancient times to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Modern chemical peels don't just make you look younger; they can also treat skin conditions like acne, melasma, and even precancerous growths. Let's look at the benefits of skin peels.
Skin Peels Protect Skin Health
Modern chemical peels aren't just used for cosmetic purposes. Skin peels are used to treat a number of skin conditions ranging from acne to melanoma. Mild chemical peels are often used to treat acne, since they help to keep pores clean. For sun damage and hyperpigmentation problems like melasma, medium-depth peels are often more effective.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels work best on those with mild to moderate skin damage from sun exposure, aging, lifestyle choices such as smoking, and/or acne. If you would like a brighter, smoother and fresher complexion, without surgery and little or no downtime, then you are an excellent candidate for a chemical peel.
Is a Chemical Peel Painful?
Most clients report a mild stinging or slight burning sensation that lasts for a very short amount of time, however, it really depends on the type of chemical used during the process.
Four Different Chemical Peels
About Face Skin Care offers four different Chemical Peels, with varying strengths, and formulations:

The renewal process stimulates a 55% increase in collagen production, improves pigmentation, acne, and melasma. Safe for all skin types, the skin appears healthier and more youthful with minimal downtime. (There may be 2 to 3 days of flaking.) For best results a series is recommended. (PLUS, each treatment of the Vitalize Peel earns you 50 Brilliant Distinction points!) .

Freckles, acne scars, brown spots and sun damage can all be erased with SkinCeuticals one-step Pigment Balancing Peel. Especially wonderful for darker skin tones, the ingredients in this treatment are designed to target hyper-pigmentation, while promoting accelerated skin renewal. Results are visible after first treatment, with optimal results achieved after 4-6 treatments.
Post Treatment
After a chemical peel, it is common to experience some temporary flaking or scaling, redness and dryness of the skin. However, these conditions will disappear as the skin adjusts to treatment. Before You Get a Chemical Peel.

What Is Photorejuvenation?
Photorejuvenation is a state of the art laser skin treatment that is used to improve sun damaged skin.
How Do Bbl Photorejuvenation Laser Skin Treatments Work?
Photorejuvenation works by exposing damaged skin to a form of intense pulsed light. This lights stimulates collagen and elastin fibers, which result in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots and freckles. You will see a smoother skin texture, and a more even skin tone to following your skin treatments.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
The beautiful thing about BBL Photorejuvenation treatments is that any body area that can be exposed to the sun is fair game for these sun-damage removal treatments. Obviously the face is the most popular area, but any other body part can also be treated; including the chest, hands, shoulders, etc.
How Many Bbl Photorejuvenation Laser Skin Treatments Will I Need?
Your skin type, color, and condition will determine how many skin treatments you will need. You will notice a signifigant amount of clearance after just one treatment, however subsequent treatments may be needed to remove older, deeper sun damage.
What Will I Look Like Immediately After?
There is no down-time with BBL treatments, and right after treatment you can go back to your every-day life. Immediately after treatment, your face may feel warm and look a little pink, however these things will pass within an hour or two. Treated sun-spots will start to darken right away, and within the course of the following few days they will begin to slough themselves off to reveal clear, pristine skin underneath.
Does About Face Skincare Offer Photorejuvenation Laser Skin Treatments?
Yes! About Face Skin Care is a leader in advancing this new skin technology, and these quick, effective, BBL Photorejuvenation laser skin treatments are performed daily in our Philadelphia offices.
What Types of Skin Conditions Can Be Treated with Ipl / Photorejuvenation Laser Skin Treatments?
There are many unwanted skin conditions which can be successfully treated with Photorejuvenation laser skin treatments, such as: Brown spots | Sun Damage | Age Spots | Liver Spots, Hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone, Enlarged pores, Acne scars, Fine lines and wrinkles
Do Bbl Photorejuvenation Treatments Hurt?
Patients report that the treatment feels like a series of rubber-band snaps all over the treated areas. Although the treatment does not hurt, the feeling can be startling. We advise patients to take Aleve (or any preferred OTC anti-inflammatory) an hour before treatment to help alleviate any possible discomfort.
Who Can Be Treated with Bbl Photorejuvenation Laser Skin Treatments?
Men and women of all skin types and colors can be treated safely and effectively with Photorejuvenation laser skin treatments.
How Long Are the Treatments?
BBL Photorejuvenation treatments are relatively quick, and at most take a half-hour.
How Long Will My Results Last?
The results from BBL Photorejuvenation are permanent, the discolored areas that have been removed are gone forever. However, these treatments can only treat existing sun damage, and cannot do anything to prevent future sun damage from occurring. (Most patients are so happy with their results though that they become sunscreen zealots and do everything in their power to protect their sun from additional, damaging sun exposure. If more sun damage does accrue, patients simply pop-in for another maintennance treatment.)
Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal
Wouldn’t it be nice to never have to shave, pluck, wax, or tweeze again—or feel self-conscious about embarrassing body hair— ever again? Win the battle against unwanted body hair once and for all with permanent laser hair removal. This new laser technology makes it so that permanent laser hair removal is finally available—meaning that you never have to shave, tweeze, wax, pluck, or bleach unwanted hair on your legs, underarms, bikini area, face, back, arms, or any other part of your body, ever again! (Plus— no more ingrown hairs or razor burn!) This revolutionary FDA approved technology allows for the pain-free removal of unwanted hair. This laser hair removal technology allows laser light to reach and destroy the root of the hair quickly and effectively. The result of this is permanent hair removal!
How Does Permanent Laser Hair Removal Work?
A beam of light passes through the patient’s skin and is attracted to dark hair follicles. The laser energy is absorbed by the hair follicle, destroying all treated follicles that are in the active growth phase. Those follicles that are treated will never grow again. (Hair follicles that are not in the active growth phase will not be affected by the laser treatment, and in order to eventually treat all hairs, it is recommended to get a treatment every 6-weeks in order to follow the hair-growth schedule.)
What Should I Do Before Treatment?
Before a treatment, it is important to closely shave the area you'd like treated. This way, all of the laser energy is directed towards the hair beneath the skin. Do NOT pluck or wax the treatment area beforehand-- the hair follicle cannot be permanently destroyed if it is not present. Some people also like to take Aleve (or any other over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication) 30-minutes prior treatment to prevent any discomfort.
How Many Treatments Are Needed to Permanently Remove My Unwanted Hair?
Laser Hair Removal is an ongoing process that requires multiple sessions in order to destroy all hair follicles during all their varying growth phases. In order to treat all hairs, laser hair removal treatments are preferably scheduled 6-weeks apart. The time between treatments varies per individual, and depends on the body area being treated, skin type, skin color, and responsiveness of the hair. Most people are able to achieve their desired results within 6-8 treatments.
Does About Face Skin Care Offer Permanent Laser Hair Removal?
Yes! Permanent laser hair removal treatments are one of the most popular services rendered at About Face Skin Care, and our skin care experts are extremely adept at working with all skin types.
Who Can Benefit From Permanent Laser Hair Removal?
Due to wonderful advances in permanent laser hair removal technology, every skin color can enjoy these treatments. However, only hairs with pigment can be treated, so those with unwanted blonde or white hairs are not good candidates.
What Should I Do After Treatment?
You are able to resume your regular activities immediately following treatment. Sometimes you might notice little bumps that pop-up on the treated area, but these will go away within 20 minutes or so. (These bumps indicate a direct hit with a hair follicle, and are actually a very good thing!) After exposing your skin to the intense laser light during treatment, you should also be extra protective of your skin afterwards and make sure to apply sunscreen as your skin will be photosensitive for up to 72-hours after treatment.
What Should I Expect During the Course of My Permanent Laser Hair Removal Treatments?
During the course of your Permanent Laser Hair Removal treatments you will notice a gradual lessening in the quantity of hair growth within the treated areas. Along with this, you will also experience a decrease in the frequency with which unwanted hair needs to be removed, in addition to a reduction of in-grown hairs and razor burn.

Acne Scars
Acne Scars
Nobody wants to deal with Acne, and even more assuredly-- nobody wants to deal with the aftermath of Acne. Dark spots, pink spots, discoloration or "pick-marks", or any other form of acne scarring, at About Face Skin Care, we don't want to just get rid of your active acne - we want to get rid of any trace that you ever had acne. In our crusade to erase acne scars, Fraxel Laser Skin Resurfacing is our biggest proponent. Carefully controlled laser energy is used to destroy the areas of skin that are damaged, thereby forcing your body to create healthy, brand-new skin to replace those problem areas. After the prescribed treatment course, acne scars are eradicated, and you are left with perfect, smooth textured, poreless-seeming skin.
What Is Fraxel Skin Resurfacing?
Fraxel Skin Resurfacing Treatments are safe, non-invasive laser procedures that help smooth and improve the texture of your skin. The treatments are safe and relatively easy, without the risks, side effects or prolonged downtime of other procedures.
What Are the Benefits of Fraxel Treatment?
Smoother, fresher looking skin; Improved texture; Reduced wrinkles around the eyes; Improved appearance of acne scars and surgical scars; More uniform skin tone
Who Can Be Treated with Fraxel?
Anyone can get Fraxel fractionated laser skin resurfacing, as it can be safely used on all skin types and colors. Your skin is unique — your genetic make-up, lifestyle, and personal history all contribute to how your skin looks and feels. With Fraxel skin resurfacing, a treatment plan can be developed to target your skin’s specific needs.
How Many Fraxel Treatments Will I Need?
The number of Fraxel treatments you will need to achieve your desired results will depend on your skin type, the condition being treated, and how your skin responds to treatment. Clinical studies suggest that for most people, maximum results are realized in just 3 to 5 sessions, and are usually spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Let the experienced providers at “About Face Skin Care” guide you through your individually designed treatment regimen.
What Side-Effects Can I Expect After Treatment and How Long Will They Last?
Following a Fraxel treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling. The intensity of these side-effects will be dependent on how aggressive your treatment was, your adherence to the recommended post-treatment practices (i.e. applying ice, keeping treated area moisturized, etc.) , and what your unique healing characteristics are. However, everyone’s skin is unique, and some patients have greater than expected reactions to less aggressive treatments, and others have fewer side-effects to more aggressive treatments. Other temporary side-effects can include minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking, and a bronzed appearance. You will be given specific instructions about what to expect for your particular treatment and how to minimize side-effects.
Does “about Face Skincare” Perform Fraxel Skin Resurfacing?
Not only do we provide Fraxel treatments, but our patients’ acne-scar results are consistently breathtaking! Additionally, we are forerunners in the areas of revising acne and post-operative scars, and Naomi Fenlin is frequently asked to help train other doctors, nurses, and medical practitioners on the best practices and ways to effectively use the Fraxel laser skin resurfacing treatments.
What Does Fraxel Treat?
Whether you have mild, moderate, or severe acne scarring, there’s a Fraxel laser resurfacing treatment that can be done for you. Smoother, fresher, healthier skin with improved tone, texture and pore size, along with the softening of wrinkles and lines will be your final result.
How Does Fraxel Work?
Simply put, Fraxel takes advantage of your body's natural healing process, resulting in natural looking rejuvenation. Thousands of microscopic areas of skin are treated during the procedure, using pinpoint laser beams that penetrate beneath the skin's surface to eliminate existing damaged cells. This triggers your body's natural healing tendencies, and each one of those microscopic wounds is replaced by healthy, fresh skin.
When Do Fraxel Results Appear?
The results are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer and smoother, look brighter and show a more even tone. The next 3-6 months will bring even more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to create new collagen. Results are long lasting depending on your lifestyle, age, skin condition, and skin regimen.
Do Fraxel Treatments Hurt?
We try to make Fraxel treatments as comfortable as possible for our patients. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure, and cold air is used on the treatment area during the Fraxel procedure to minimize discomfort. After the treatment, most patients report feeling a sun-burned sensation which usually dissipates within a few hours.
How Long Do Fraxel Acne-Scar Treatment Results Last?
The length of your Fraxel results depend on your particular condition, and how you care for your skin. Once your skin is restored, the changes can be permanent. To maximize the longevity of your results, it is important to continue protecting your skin from the sun as described above. (Especially for conditions such as Melasma, where sun exposure can worsen the situation again.) Your “About Face SkinCare” laser specialist will make sure to give you specific advice at the time of your treatment to ensure long-lasting results.
How Should I Care for My Skin After a Fraxel Treatment?
After a Fraxel laser treatment, it is important to take extra special care of your skin. In order to help your skin heal quickly and safely after a Fraxel laser skin resurfacing treatment, there are important precautions to take to protect your skin:
Skin Care Products
All of the skin care products you use for the first week following a Fraxel treatment should be gentle, and non-clogging. Examples of brands that offer very gentle and inexpensive skin care products are: Aveeno, Dove, Neutrogena, and Cetaphil.
Moisturizer
Peeling and/or flaking is normal during the Fraxel healing process. Any moisturizer you use during this period should be non-irritating and non-clogging so that it can be used frequently without causing any breakouts. Please reapply moisturizer to your skin whenever it feels dry and/or tight.
Bleaching Creams
Discontinue the use of your bleaching cream (Hydroquinone) while your skin is tender.
Sunscreen
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, proper and frequent application of sunscreen is very important– and never more so than during the time period following a Fraxel treatment when your skin is extra fragile and sensitive. Your sunscreen should offer broadband protection (UVA and UVB) and have a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or more. You should apply sunscreen 20-minutes before going outside. If direct sun exposure is unavoidable, wear a hat and protective clothing.
Scrubs, Toners, Glycolic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, and Retin-a
Your skin will be extra fragile for the first week or so after your Fraxel treatment, so you should avoid using any strong acne products that might cause irritation. Do not use abrasive exfoliating scrubs, toners, or products that contain glycolic acids or Retin-A. Make sure to read the products labels of all products before you use them!

“About Face SkinCare” currently offers the Fraxel Dual 1550/1927 treatment modes:
The Fraxel 1550

Isolaz Acne Treatments
Isolaz Acne Treatments
As we like to say, Isolaz sucks. For acne sufferers that have tried numerous other acne remedies, the Isolaz Acne Treatment offers light at the end of the tunnel. Utilizing a vacuum with carefully controlled light therapy, the Isolaz is able to painlessly clean, disinfect, and heal all current acne lesions, while simultaneously helping to prevent any future break-outs.
What Is the Isolaz?
The Isolaz Acne Laser is the only FDA approved laser that combines a vacuum with a painless laser to purify your pores. No matter what your age or skin type, Isolaz Acne Treatments are a revolutionary way to help deliver you clean and clear skin.
Why Does Acne Appear Mostly On the Face, Chest, and Back?

How Long Is the Isolaz Treatment?
Treatment times vary, however face treatment usually take between 45-60 minutes. We ask that you reserve at least an hour for your treatment, thereby allowing enough time to check-in, wash your face, and take any neccessary photos before treatment.

When Will I Start to See Results?
Typically, patients can see a visible improvement in the redness or severity of their acne after their first treatment. It's important to stick to the recommended treatment plan in order to see the full results of treatment.
Can I Put Make-Up On Right After Treatment?

I've Tried Everything for My Acne, Including Accutane (Isotretinoin) . Will Isolaz Treatments Really Work for Me?
While everyone's skin is different, many patients who have not responded to other acne treatments, such as Accutane, other antibiotics, topical creams or even lasers have responded to Isolaz treatments. In fact, studies have shown that 85% of people who have an Isolaz treatment will experience clearer skin. I'm currently on Accutane (Isotretinoin) / or (another acne medication) . Can I get an Isolaz treatment? Isolaz can be performed while you are on medications, such as antibiotics. However, Isolaz should not be performed if you are currently taking Accutane. Is It Safe?
Yes, Isolaz has a high safety rating.

Does About Face Skin Care Offer Isolaz Acne Treatment?
Not only do we offer it, but Naomi Fenlin was the first in the country to own this amazing machine! Our extraordinarily well-trained staff has performed thousands of acne treatments, and Naomi Fenlin also lectures, and trains doctors, nurses, estheticians, and other healthcare providers across the country on the best ways to utilize the Isolaz for ridding their patients of acne.
How Does the Isolaz Work?
To best understand how the Isolaz works, it is helpful to understand the acne basics. Acne results when the skin is unable to exfoliate itself correctly. Rather than shedding dead and dying skin cells, the acne sufferer’s skin cells get clogged inside the opening of the skin’s pores. This forms little “plugs” which result in the beginnings of blackheads, whiteheads, and all forms of pimples. Although there are additional factors at work, it is this clogging of pores that causes acne. By utilizing Isolaz’s laser acne technology, dead and dying skin cell “plugs” are pulled out of the skin, killing acne causing bacteria, and decreasing (or eliminating) oil production— a triple punch against which no acne can withstand. The Isolaz laser utilizes vacuum and light therapy to solve the conditions that cause acne:
Vacuum
The Isolaz vacuum action helps loosen and extract dead and dying skin cells, dirt, blackheads and excess oil from deep within your pores.
Light Therapy
A painless flash off light goes off during the vacuuming process, which destroys acne-causing bacteria, and promotes faster healing. The laser also decreases-and in some cases eliminates-the production of oil from your sebaceous glands, so future acne is prevented.
What Can I Expect During An Isolaz Treatment?
Before Treatment: Your skin will be moistened with water before the Isolaz tip is applied to the skin. Since the treatment is painless, there is no topical numbing or medication beforehand.
During Treatment
When the Isolaz tip is placed on your skin, you will feel a painless, warm sensation. The process is repeated over the entire treatment area. In a recent clinical study, 100% of patients reported no pain during the Isolaz acne treatment. Treatment was most commonly compared to the feeling of a warm massage.
After Treatment
Once your Isolaz treatment is completed, you are free to resume all regular activities. Unlike some other laser acne treatments, your skin will not have any light sensitivities following treatment, and you are free to go on with your everyday life.

Isolaz Acne Laser
Isolaz Acne Laser
No matter what you read or hear, you must remember: Acne is not your fault. Although acne sufferers often blame themselves for their skin condition - the truth is that if you have problems with your skin - it is not because you are dirty or eat too much chocolate. Instead, the real culprit behind acne-prone skin is pure old genetics. Break-outs occur due to a genetic skin predisposition that does not allow the skin to exfoliate itself correctly. Instead of exfoliating off your face like it is supposed to, dead skin-cells instead exfoliate back into the pore, thereby causing a clog, and ulitmately a pimple. For acne sufferers that have tried numerous other acne remedies, the Isolaz Acne Treatment offers light at the end of the tunnel. As we like to say, Isolaz sucks. Utilizing a vacuum with carefully controlled light therapy, the Isolaz is able to painlessly clean, disinfect, and heal all current acne lesions, while simultaneously helping to prevent any future break-outs.

By utilizing Isolaz’s laser acne technology, dead and dying skin cell “plugs” are pulled out of the skin, killing acne causing bacteria, and decreasing (or eliminating) oil production-a triple punch against which no acne can withstand.
Do Isolaz Acne Treatments Work for Everyone?
Everyone’s skin is different, however:
Studies Have Shown That 85% of People Who Underwent An Isolaz Acne Treatment Experience Clearer Skin.
64% of Acne Sufferers Who Didn’t Previously Respond to Oral, Topical
And other laser acne treatments reported over 75% acne clearance following Isolaz treatments.
Isolaz Clinical Studies Show Immediate Results Within 24-48 Hours, Including Reduced Redness and Immediate Drying/flattening of the Blemish.
Patients Had 88% Clearance of Papular, Pustular, Comedonal, Nodual, and Inflammatory Acne After Undergoing Isolaz Treatments.

The Importance of Brows
Shaping Eyebrows
Shaping eyebrows is a simple thing that can bring about big changes to a person’s overall look. Short of plastic surgery, eyebrow shaping can do more to improve someone’s appearance than most other beauty treatments. Whether you are young or old, high or low maintenance, taking the time to properly shape your eyebrows is well worth the effort.
Balance Facial Features
Eyebrows that have been properly shaped bring balance and proportion to the whole face. Facial features can be softened or accentuated just by shaping the brows. In general, larger features look better with a slightly, fuller eyebrows, where as smaller features are balanced by thinner eyebrows.
Refine Your Appearance
A well-groomed eyebrow can give a polished look to a person’s appearance. Women who have nicely shaped eyebrows look put together, even without makeup.
Major Change
Eyebrows usually grow back fairly quickly. After shaping, they will likely grow back within months, unless they have been repeatedly tweezed for years. It’s easy to try a new look by changing the shape of the eyebrows, and it doesn’t entail the commitment of a more drastic change of appearance such as chopping off long hair.
See a Professional
It’s best to go to a professional esthetician when you are shaping your eyebrows for the first time. You can describe what you want or bring in photos, but keep in mind that she will have to work with the eyebrow hair that you have. It’s easier to maintain your eyebrows at home by tweezing after they have been professionally shaped. If you would like to wax at home, have several professional eyebrow waxings done until you are very comfortable and familiar with the process.
A More Youthful Look
Eyebrows that have been gently arched visually lift and open up the eye area. This allows more room for eye shadow and brings about a more youthful appearance to the face. Keep in mind that extremely arched brows can have the opposite effect and may look severe. Avoid 45 degree angles, as they can age the appearance of the face.
Frame the Eyes
They say that the eyes are the "window to the soul". Such an important feature deserves to be framed. Shaped eyebrows do just that-- they frame the eyes and draw attention to them.
Make a Statement
Eyebrows can be used to create a look or make a statement. Changing the shape of the eyebrows can change the impression that someone gives off. You may see her as the cute girl next door, a serious career women or a sophisticated diva just by how she shapes her eyebrows.
Men
It’s not just women who benefit from nicely shaped eyebrows. A little eyebrow grooming on a male can mean the difference between a scruffy looking guy and a well groomed man. It’s important not to over shape a man’s eyebrows–a little clean up is all most of them need.
At Your Appointment
Your face shape, structure and features will be analyzed at the time of your treatment, and will all be taken into consideration to help formulate the most flattering eyebrow shape for you. Common eyebrow shapes range from the following, and your input will definitely be taken into consideration.

Thermage Skin Tightening
Thermage Skin Tightening
Thermage stimulates your body's natural renewal of collagen, which creates subtle, natural looking skin-tightening with little to no downtime.
What Is Thermage?
Thermage is a safe, non-invasive, clinically proven way to tighten, smooth, and contour skin for an overall younger looking appearance. Through the stimulation of your own collagen, improvements in your skin tone, contour and texture will occur naturally. Thermage procedures can help smooth, tighten and deep contour skin for an overall younger looking appearance, without surgery. The Thermage skin tightening treatment delivers natural looking results with little or no downtime - on all skin colors, all body parts, in one single procedure. Since the Thermage procedure is non-invasive, you can return to your normal activities immediately.
How Does Thermage Work?
To best understand how Thermage works, you need to know a few facts about your skin. The facial skin is made of three distinct layers: a visible layer on the surface called the epidermis, a collagen-rich underlayer beneath the surface called the dermis, and an inner layer beneath the dermis call the subcutaneous layer (also known as the fat layer) , which has a web of collagen fibers running through it. The collagen in these three layers breaks down from a variety of different causes including genetics, sun exposure, smoking, weight loss, and just plain old aging. As you age, the collagen in your skin breaks down resulting in wrinkles and sagging skin. Skin treatments that work on just the surface can’t do anything to restore the collagen in the under-layer or the inner-layer of your skin. Thermage is the only non-invasive procedure available that tightens and renews your skin’s collagen in all three layers. The actual technology that Thermage harnesses has been used in many medical applications for decades. However, it is the unique method of controlling and applying the technology that puts Thermage in a class of its own. Thermage’s unique patented radiofrequency (RF) technology safely heats your skin’s under-layer and the web of collagen in the inner layer, causing an immediate tightening as well as improved tone and texture. Existing collagen is stimulated, and new collagen begins to grow which helps skin look younger. Due to continuing new collagen growth, these improvements will become even more noticeable for the four to six months following treatment. The net result of a Thermage laser skin tightening procedure is more youthful looking and feeling, tighter skin.
How Many Thermage Treatments Will I Need?
Only one! Your single Thermage treatment will provide you with full tightening and contouring benefits. With no downtime, you can jump right back into your life with your newly tightened, younger-looking skin.
Do Thermage Skin Tightening Treatments Hurt?
Each time the Thermage device touches your skin, you’ll feel a brief cooling sensation, followed by a deep but brief heating sensation, followed by another cooling sensation. The heating sensation is a sign that the deep layers of your skin are reaching effective temperatures for tightening, while the cooling sensation protects the surface of your skin. Throughout the procedure, your treatment provider will ask for feedback on the level of the heat sensation to help balance your comfort with maximum results.
Can a Thermage Treatment Help Me Avoid the Need for Other Cosmetic Procedures?
Yes! Each cosmetic procedure has it’s own benefits, but Thermage is a great non-invasive choice for skin smoothing, tightening, and contouring. During your consultation, your treatment provider will discuss with you which procedure (s) may be best for you, and your desired results.
What Are the Benefits of Thermage After Liposuction?
Thermage laser treatments address skin laxity issues not fixed by the liposuction procedure. Thermage can help reduce possible surface irregularities and help smooth body unevenness. Your skin itself will feel tighter and smoother, and you can expect to benefit from renewed collagen production.
Does About Face Skin Care Provide Thermage Skin Tightening Treatments?
Not only do we provide Thermage laser skin tightening, but due to Naomi Fenlin’s experience with this treatment, she is often requested to teach other doctors, nurses, and health-care providers how to best utilize Thermage technology and practices for their patients as well!
What Does Thermage Treat?
Everyone can expect some collagen tightening after a Thermage treatement.
Who Can Be Treated with Thermage?
Thermage works on all skin types and colors, and both men and women often benefit from the laser skin tightening and collagen stimulation that Thermage provides.
How Long Do the Effects of Thermage Last?
Some immediate results are usually visible and improve over time in the course of your body’s natural collagen rebuilding process. For most patients, measurable tightening and contouring gradually appear in the course of the following 2 to 6 months. Results can last for years, depending on your skin condition and aging process. However, should you choose to, you can have the Thermage skin tightening procedure repeated as frequently as every 6 months.
Can I Get a Thermage Procedure Instead of a Facelift?
Thermage can significantly tighten your skin, but it won’t provide the dramatic results of a surgical facelift. If you would like modest skin tightening of your skin without surgery, then Thermage may be right for you.
Can I Get a Thermage Treatment If I’ve Already Had Other Cosmetic Procedures?
Yes! Thermage skin tightening procedures are compatible with most other cosmetic procedures, such as dermal-fillers, Botox, Fraxel, or laser hair removal. For best results you will need to discuss your past procedures, as well as your current expectations, with your treatment provider during your consultation.
How Do I Know If I Need Thermage After Liposuction?
Combining Thermage with your liposuction procedure is a decision that should be made between you and your provider, however all liposuction patients receive some benefits from having the Thermage procedure performed after they have healed from the liposuction surgery. You may decide you want the Thermage treatment before the liposuction, or you can wait until after the recovery period when you can observe your full surgical results.

Fraxel Laser Resurfacing
Fraxel Laser Resurfacing
Fraxel Laser Skin Resurfacing is an amazing laser treatment that is effectively changes the texture of all skin types and colors. Fraxel Laser Skin Resurfacing is FDA-approved, and uses fractional laser technology to help restore your skin to its original, perfect texture and achieves smoother, fresher, younger looking skin, improved tone and texture, smaller pores, erasing of unwanted brown spots, acne scars, and surgical scars, and reduces fine line lines and wrinkles.
What Is Fraxel Skin Resurfacing?
Explained in the simplest terms, Fraxel laser skin resurfacing tricks your skin into creating new skin to replace the damaged, or targeted areas, resulting in natural skin rejuvenation that takes years off your appearance. Fraxel skin resurfacing is a safe, non-invasive laser skin treatment that removes years from your appearance without the risks, side effects or prolonged downtime of other procedures.
Does About Face Skin Care Perform Fraxel Skin Resurfacing?
Not only do we provide Fraxel treatments, but our patients’ results are consistently breathtaking! Additionally, we are forerunners in the areas of revising acne and post-operative scars, and Naomi Fenlin is frequently asked to help train other doctors, nurses, and medical practitioners on the best practices and ways to effectively use the Fraxel laser skin resurfacing treatments.
How Does Fraxel Work?
The technology behind Fraxel is as revolutionary as the results it delivers. Unlike other laser treatments, Fraxel skin resurfacing treatments are able to precisely treat thousands of microscopic areas of skin, using pinpoint laser beams that penetrate beneath the skin’s surface to eliminate old, damaged skin cells. Fraxel stimulates the body’s own healing process which replaces damaged skin with fresh, glowing, healthy skin. By design, Fraxel skin resurfacing treatments can target between 5 to 50 percent of the skin’s surface, leaving the remaining 50 to 95 percent available to quickly help heal the treated areas. Since Fraxel treatments are so precise, it’s safe and effective to use on even delicate skin areas like the neck, chest and hands, in addition to the face. You can expect two levels of results; immediate and progressive. Immediately after the initial healing is complete, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter, and tone will start to become even. Progressive results occur over the next three to six months, as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal.
How Long Do Fraxel Treatment Results Last?
The length of your Fraxel results depend on your particular condition, and how you care for your skin. Once your skin is restored, it is important to continue protecting your skin from the sun as described above. (Especially for conditions such as Melasma, where sun exposure can worsen the situation again.) Your About Face Skin Care laser specialist will make sure to give you specific advice at the time of your treatment to ensure long-lasting results.

How Should I Care for My Skin After a Fraxel Treatment?
You can resume your normal skin care routine once your skin has healed, usually about a week after treatment. If you have a history of cold sores, please mention this to your treatment provider so that a breakout can be prevented!
Scrubs, Toners, Glycolic Acid, and Retin-a
Your skin will be extra sensitive for the first week or so after your Fraxel treatment, so you should avoid using any products that might cause irritation. Do not use abrasive exfoliating scrubs, toners, or products that contain glycolic acids or Retin-A. Make sure to read the products labels of all products before you use them.

In fact, studies have shown that 85% of people who have an Isolaz treatment will experience clearer skin.
Will I Still Need to Use Topical Skin Creams?
Though Isolaz is a great treatment by itself, it can also help with the absorption of topical creams. During your consultation, we can talk about what you currently use and what is recommended during your Isolaz treatments.
By utilizing Isolaz’s laser acne technology, dead and dying skin cell “plugs” are pulled out of the skin, killing acne causing bacteria, and decreasing (or eliminating) oil production-a triple punch against which no acne can withstand.
Before Treatment
Your skin will be moistened with water before the Isolaz tip is applied to the skin. Since the treatment is painless, there is no topical numbing or medication beforehand.
After Treatment
Once your Isolaz treatment is completed, you are free to resume all regular activities. Unlike some other laser acne treatments, your skin will not have any light sensitivities following treatment, and you are free to go on with your everyday life.
