Katherine Zapf: Butagumi - an excellent high-end fried pork palace. They have an English menu and are set in a beautiful older building. Service is, of course, flawless.

Shirps: Soba has great texture. The tempura and egg rolls are popular choices. I had the chicken soup which had a really nice broth. The noodles make the dish. Come before 6pm to avoid the queue.

ichiro loo: the most popular open air bar in Shinjuku Nichome(the largest Gay town in JP). Reopened this year. Used to b the Advocates Cafe. open at 6pm. till 9pm, all-you-can-drink for beer(¥1000).free wifi.
Eagle Alpa Lima: Still my favorite, but you'll smell like oil afterwards - especially if you are at the bar. Sit at the bar to watch them scoop up live eels, shrimp and needle fish before they hit the fryer.
Annie Wu: Sit by sushi bar. Order as much raw fish to try. I love the fatty tuna the most. Scallops were so delicious too! Can go back for sure! Love sashimi

Sabrina: Really tiny restaurant which only seats 8 ppl, hence the wait/line up. It's worth the wait though, esp. on a cold day like today! Get the 1st item on the menu, the chicken broth is to die for!!! 😍😋
Jackson Chew: This place is amazing! Fresh (seaweed still crispy), cheap (2 salmon pcs for ¥105), free green tea, English-friendly and gets sent straight to you via conveyor belt. If you don't go, you lose at life.

Trish F: Lovely, relaxed soba restaurant - sudachi (citrus) soba was fresh and duck ramen was delicious. Anago tempura light and buttery, futo-maki very yummy. Takes reservations in English and English menu.

Vicky: First ramen in Tokyo and it was awesome, nice pork broth, not heavy or greasy, nicely cooked noodles. As well we had gyoza and kimchi. Cannot recommend enough!

Dens: In our 8 days in Tokyo, we tried 9 diff ramens & THIS ONE was our favorite. (I wish we went back!) It's a short walk north of Shinjuku Station. Look for the 4-5 steps you gotta climb to get in.
Mason Stewart: Stumbled in here Summer 2007 right after it opened. The owner was the only staff. Absolutely fantastic tonkotsu ramen, added multiple extra ajitsuketamago. Came back a year later and still loved it.

Tripl3t: Its all legit Izakaya for salarymen. Few English menus but most staff knows some key words (chicken, pork, etc). You take the plunge, you get rewarded with delicious.
