It does not have the unbelievable natural beauty of the scenery of some of the far-away beaches of Astypalaia, but swimming within view of the Chora is amazing. Good for a nightly swim as well.

The patatato is first class, as is almost every cooked dish. Avoid standard Greek cuisine and go for everything local. The salads were also excellent. Good service & fair prices!
It's a good, honest Italian place. Italian restaurants in Germany resemble fast-food places but here you get what you pay for.
An excellent shop with great local and standard sweets. Good service, great atmosphere. Try the chocolate pie and the traditional orange pie. You can also do take-away and enjoy at some later point.
It's ok for a quick stop, a swim and a coffee. Would not spend a full day on this beach.

Unbelievable beauty. Top swim during our stay in Amorgos. Small canteen available for your needs. It is worth the 10' walk to the little church on the far end of the beach.
Take a coffee here when visiting Pera Gialos beach for an uncomplicated, quick swim with great view to Chora/Castle/harbour.Accompanying beach bed came for free.

Great island, must visit. Mix of Cuclades & Dodecanese. Local produce is first class, amazing Chora, wild nature also available for the adventurous. Slightly on the expensive side.
Great idyllic location, sunbathing/swimming are excellent. Good snacks & drinks/coffees, albeit at premium prices due to the remoteness of the location. A must while on Astypalaia!
Honest fast food place, we tried the pork gyros and chicken gyros sandwiches, very satisfactory for 2€ per piece!

The "No stress" & "Thalassopouli" boats are the two choices from the port of Pera Yialos (13€ & 15€ respectively). Both boats are ok, choice according to preference. The boat trip is worth the money!

"Kleftiko" goat & moussaka: excellent. 20€/person=fair price for Astypalaian high season, service@the right pace & very polite. Overall above average for the island's poor restaurant standards.
