For best coffee locate a Shake Shack and get Stumptown bottled cold brew or classic drip.
Don't feed the birds. Maybe they'll stop coming INSIDE! (bag claim E) last thing we need at JFK is to roll our bags thru pigeon poo.
I love this terminal. It's my favorite US Airways location in NYC. Have always had a great experience here. :)

JFK is incredibly outdated for handicapped or people with heavy luggage. Welcome to NYC - now carry those bags down the steps and walk a mile to baggage claim!

Airtrain + subway is only $7.25 anywhere in NYC. Cabs are $45+tip flat to Manhattan ... ONLY USE AUTHORIZED CABS AT THE TAXI LINE, don't take a ride from someone who approaches you.

Taxi for when you're desperate but a bus from manhattan is only $16. Cheaper than $60 for a taxi. And you get to be entertained by all the crazies!
Yellow Taxi offer current fee 52 $ (plus tax and extras ). make sure you know what terminal you have to get to before hand especially after an international flight and a switch through customs its good to scout ahead or ask around

If going to terminal 8 via AirTrain: transfer at terminal 1 to go the opposite direction to save a few minutes
