Neil Turner: Taxis outside station are expensive. Instead, go out of the main doors, across the crossroads and get a taxi from the office on the right. Much cheaper.

Visit Manchester: Catch the Metroshuttle bus number 2 from outside the station for free travel around the city centre.

Neil Turner: Free parking, not far from the M62, and hourly trains into Leeds and Bradford - great as a park and ride station. A few direct London trains too.
