Large open-air market selling food, clothes, oh, and whatever else you might come to think of buying. Check out the "Food Street", where you can sample local dishes for little money.
If you like to buy some souvenirs in Tashkent and avoid crazily overpriced tourist shops: Here's a very good place, in the yard of a Medressah. You still need to bargain, but at least here, it's fun.
Excellent view. Bring your passport, you won't get in without it. The restaurant above is rather basic. You can sometimes convince the staff to let you higher up with a bit of financial argumentation.
This funny vehicle allows you to go around the Water Park, the Japanese Garden as well as Tashkentland and get a first glance at them from above - maybe to decide where you really want to go?

Here, just off Amir Temur Street, you'll find a number of small family-run cafes that serve local food for reasonable prices; and that mostly have nice backyards.

The Indepencence Square features a couple of fountains, fancy buildings that aren't to everyone's taste, and a foresty area with a small river nearby.
Since the trees are gone, this isn't a cozy place to hang out anymore. Still worth a visit, and if only to admire the Fund Forum building, the two clock towers (of which one is fake), and the statue.
It's a fountain. There's light. And (usually loud) music from not exactly high-quality speakers. In short: Fun to see when it's dark.

Large park with paths, pond, cafes, and some amusement park elements, as well as an official beach (and a few not so official places where to jump into the water). Large and mostly relaxed.
Nice outdoor terrace by the water. The place is pretty overpriced, but it does make a great place to sit outside.
A rather basic and truly local outdoor pool. Don't expect too clean or modern facilities - but it's a nice place for a lazy afternoon or evening. Bring your own beer, and enjoy.
An amusement park with only a few quiet corners, and a small pond. Check the panorama wheel for some views of the city centre.
