Ace for summer picnics — aim for the heathy bit in the middle at the top, bring all your supplies with you though it's a long walk down to the deli's and shops.
Another of my favourite parks, take a long walk through the woods then up towards Parliament Hill, if your brave there's ponds you can swim in too.
This is my favourite park in London, Perfect for cyclists (you can rent bikes at Roehampton Gate if you don't have your own). The Isabella Plantation is a beautiful traffic free part not to be missed.
Don't hesitate to take a guided tour they're really good, the East cemetery has all the famous people in it, but the West Cemetary is much more picturesque with beautiful Victorian tombs
It's just great, go see the big Blue Whale. But it brings in massive crowds for the dinosaurs on weekends and holidays, try next doors V&A or Science Museum, both are outstanding experiences.
Paramount is a swanky cocktail bar at the top of Centre Point, virtually the only tall building in central London, fantastic views, expensive drinks but worth it.
My current favourite place for weekend brunch, great food, mint milkshake is surprisingly great.
A lovely autumn / late summer day trip. They have a tree-top walk and pagodas which is ace, but I also really appreciated the Sackler Crossing... a beautiful bridge designed by John Pawson.
This is where I went to college and they pretty much always have interesting exhibitions on... if your planning on going to Hyde Park or Museum Mile this might make a nice break.
Franks — A summer only bar with amazing views situated on top of a multi-storey car park. Good if your in South London partner up with a trip to the South London Gallery or Brixton Market.
Open Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays. Great food... it's a little staged... not quite a 'traditional market'as most tourists declare but a great lunch stop on route to Tate Modern.
One of the earliest social housing schemes ever built. A pretty neighbourhood near Shoreditch, try Leilas Cafe, the Boundary Cafe or Allpress for Lunch.
If your lucky you'll be able to catch one of the new Routemaster busses designed by Thomas Heatherwick. Why not catch it at Picadily Circus ride to Angel Upper Street and get a cycle hire back.
If your in town for a while maybe catch a movie at an independent cinema (avoid leicester square!). the Ritzy in Brixton is also nice.
