Lamb and lengua (beef tongue) tacos are incredibly tender with just a touch of a spicy kick. Great brunch portions and a strong margarita. The perfect dive taco joint.
Insanely delicious food. Very friendly staff that make you feel very welcomed. As soon as you walk in it's a mash between 80's memorabilia, and of course, Mexican themed decorations.
I can't get enough of this place. When the weather is nice... The courtyard in the back is awesome! Margaritas = strong. Great prices. Best authentic Mexican around!
Ranked #1 tacos in JC for a reason. I’ve never had better steak tacos or chips & salsa. Margs are a must try. Small inside & there’s usually a wait but they do takeout. Worth the wait to eat there
The Pork Tamale was amazing. And I love how the portions of the food aren't overwhelming, which allows you to try different things. I also had the fish and carnitas (pork) tacos, which were excellent.
The tacos are phenomenal. The pork are my favorite especially when paired with a Dos Equis. The people and atmosphere are very fun and will keep you coming back for more
If you're hungry, try the beef burrito (burritas) for $9. You get 2 large burritos w/ rice & beans. If you want something light & cheap then go for a steak taco for $3. Either way you can't go wrong.
Solid authentic Mexican food. It gets very busy most days - quality grub draws a crowd - so be prepared to wait for a table... or avoid the wait and get take out delivered!
Few vegetarian options. Rice has chicken broth and beans have pork. So you are left with tostadosavocado 🥑 or potatoflautas both of which are delicious.
Fish tacos are delicious. I also like their horchata (rice milk) beverage, which is only available on weekends. Go early because the horchata will be gone soon. Its ok tho, you're there for the tacos!
Ask for extra spicy sauce. You won't regret it...until later at least. Goes well with an order of rice and beans or with any of the tacos or quesadillas.
Always ask what's vegetarian. They seem to keep changing what they put in each dish (lard, chicken stock, etc.) so good to find out. Everything is delicious, though!!
Fish and steak tacos are so good! My mouth waters just thinking about them. My husband says the chorizo are best. Staff can be rude, you'll probably wait to sit but worth it! Food so good!!!
Spicy sausagetaco and refreshing cactus taco is always a good combo. I usually get the lambtaco too, because I am Mediterranean like that. Fish taco varies depending on the day.
The fish anbd pork tacos are both good. Hell they're whole menu is good. This place is BYOB too (I never got hassled for it). They're home madehot sauce is great too! Make sure you ask for it.
There are "no fajitas," "no nachos," "no cute clay or adobe plates to match the cute clay or adobe decor" and "no fancy menus with a history lesson on Mexico."
Very crowded at dinner time. The food was very good, as promised. Wait for a table for 4 on a Saturday night was 45 minutes. Margaritas are VERY strong.
Love this place but not how crowded it gets with the six pack crowd. Fish tacos amazing. Ana the waitress gives attitude as a side, even when you don't want it. Avoid her.
