Forget expensive cruises around/to Liberty Island. You'll have the best best view of miss liberty (the ones you see in many postcards) during this ferry trip. That is, by the way, 100% free.
It's almost unknown to typical tourist, who usually takes shortest ruote between staten island ferry and wall street. It's a pity, it is so touching in its semplicity.

One of my five NY preferite places. Stunning by any side, not only the fountain but all the terrace. Underpass is great, too, and often there're artists exploiting its peculiar acoustics.
While visiting the memorial is very touching, the museum itself has very few moments really worthing the $24 ticket or the line for tuesday free admission.
Averaging $25/pd, a perfect bbq meat that will bring you in heaven. The pork belly is highly suggested. Also good beers on tap. A must for meat lovers.

The main nathan's -the one in coney island- has slight bigger and much better franks than same brand shops around nyc.
Katz's is famous for its pastrami sandwich. It is actually very good. Very. Though, i think it is quite overpriced (around 20$).
